Misses Extra Small to 2X Large.
This semi-fitted blouse pattern features a wide band collar, tapered sleeves, and deep underarm gussets for ease of movement, and overlapping front panels that tie on both sides and at armhole and above the waist on the inside. The blouse can also be made without the armhole ties for a casual open-collar look. The sleeves are wide at the shoulder and gathered at the shoulder cap; they taper to a close fit below the elbow.
In Nepal, this wrap-and-tie blouse is traditionally made of velvet and worn under a wrap-style chupa or jumper (like our ) or over a wrapped and pleated skirt formed from a sari or 6yd (5.5m) length of fabric. Directions for wrapping the skirt are included inside the pattern, along with sewing tips for working with velvet.
Suggested fabrics: Lightweight fabrics with drape such as rayon, velvet, or silk; medium-weight cotton; lightweight wool. Traditional colors are shades of red, pink, or purple.
